Wedding photography and a new blog

New Blog
We were sitting at the lunch table at Shiau Chin’s house today and we concluded that we needed to do things together more often. We started listing things that we could do together (travel, exercise, watch TV programmes, language learning, etc…) until she said literary writing. The discussion then progressed to blog writing, which I thought was workable and could incorporate everything that we had discussed. We could blog about all those things and more. Hence, here we are, typing things down for friends, family and fans.

Wedding Shoot
We just had our wedding photo shoot last Saturday. We originally had no real idea about how to go about planning for or preparing for the shoot, other than the material preparations that were required. This was told to me some time ago and I had already prepared for this beforehand. Shiau Chin said that we needed to look at different themes and style and decide what kind of wedding shoot we wanted. In the end, the shoot was the default kind that everyone got. I suppose that a cheaper wedding shoot would mean a preclusion of choice of style. Given the sample wedding photo albums of other couples, I predict that ours would be a mish-mash of different styles. I am not complaining though, as I thought a wedding album would be something like this. The quality of the albums and photos is also not to be frowned upon as I thought the albums of other couples were rather well-done and designed. The only concern I have would be how I would turn out in the album. I really regret not having a haircut before the photo shoot. I would have preferred to have shorter hair and sideburns.

What I liked about the Sense Wedding was the very personal approach that the photographer and hairstylists took with us. Shiau Chin and I were very unsure and uneasy at first about the whole process. However, from the moment we stepped into the wedding gallery, they talked to us to get us comfortable both with them and the environment. Unfortunately, we did not get to know their names, which was quite impolite of us. I was also unaware at first that the photographer and hairstylists did not have their meal when we were having ours. I should have ordered something for them, like drinks or snacks. This something I learnt that I must do in future: to be more mindful of others.

In the end, I think Shiau Chin and I had a really happy experience at the wedding shoot which was because of the personable attitude of the staff. We have only to wait for results to judge if the time and money spent was worth it.
